Fientaโs homepage turns orange to draw attention to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women
November 25 is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which is marked around the world with the colour orange. Everyone is invited to show solidarity and help raise awareness by wearing orange clothing.
Orange as a symbol of a violence-free future
In Estonia, 50 buildings and landmarks in major cities will be lit up in orange. Turning our homepage orange is a way to extend this visual action from public space into the digital environment. In this way, we can contribute to raising awareness of this day more broadly and in a different way than usual.
Our homepage is visited daily by thousands of ticket buyers from all over the world, which allows us to help spread the message not only in Estonia, but globally.
The role of men in preventing intimate partner violence
From 25 November to 10 December, Estonia will host โorange conversationsโ led by the President Kaljulaid Foundation, focusing on the prevention and elimination of intimate partner violence. This year, ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐๐๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐ ๐จ๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ซ๐จ๐ฅ๐ ๐จ๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ง in preventing intimate partner violence.
The Orange Conversations programme will conclude on 10 December, International Human Rights Day, when Estonian men will stand in front of the Parliament from sunrise to sunset and read out summaries of police reports related to intimate partner violence.
