Fienta shows its support for preterm babies and their families with a lilac homepage

Every year on 17 November, World Prematurity Day is marked across the globe – a day dedicated to tiny, brave babies, their families and loved ones. This year, Fienta is joining in to show its support by turning its homepage lilac, the international colour representing preterm babies.

A small change with a big impact

Fienta is a child- and family-friendly company. Changing the colour of our homepage to lilac felt like a natural way to show support and help raise awareness of the importance of this day in a slightly different way than usual. Typically, on this day buildings, bridges and monuments are lit up; Fienta, however, operates in the digital world – ticket sales and event management support.

What we can colour is what we have within reach – our homepage. This way, the message of World Prematurity Day reaches everyone who comes to the Fienta platform to discover events or buy tickets.

Among the many events sold through Fienta’s ticketing platform are numerous experiences aimed at children from infancy and toddler age onwards – performances, concerts, exhibitions, workshops and other activities.

Preterm birth touches many of us

One in ten babies is born into this world earlier than expected. Simply having better knowledge and understanding of what a family goes through in such a situation helps us know how to offer support when needed. As a society, we can become more caring and attentive towards one another when we are more aware.

World Prematurity Day is marked every year on 17 November. Its purpose is to draw attention to and express support for preterm babies, their families and loved ones, and to raise public awareness of what preterm birth really means.

Preterm birth needs our shared attention

Each year, World Prematurity Day also has a central theme. This year’s slogan is: “Allow preterm babies a strong start in life, so they can have a bright future.” Every child deserves the chance to grow, learn and live a full life – regardless of how tiny they were when they entered this world.

In 2025, the World Health Organization (WHO) officially added World Prematurity Day to its calendar. This is an important step that confirms preterm birth as a global priority that calls for shared attention, resources and commitment.

Lilac has become a global symbol for the tiny fighters who begin their life’s journey earlier than expected. Fienta’s lilac homepage is a small but sincere step towards amplifying this message even further.

Together toward a more caring society!
