“With Gratitude” is a tribute to Mai Murdmaa as one of the most important creators of dance art in Estonia’s recent history. The performance digs into the movement material of the ballet master, always in search of something new, placing it in the contemporary choreographic language.
The hybrid form focuses on movement, which highlights the translation processes of the choreographic material, the emerging decisions and irrational fears, making us face the unknown of meeting ourselves and the unconscious.The space created with the piece deals with the boundaries of our memories, recorded and not recorded in history, creating possible meta-frames in the fields beyond those boundaries. Time has come to look back on Murdmaa's fruitful creative journey.
