Ukraine Solidarity Screening #1 / Freefilmers, Mariupol
Series of benefit events for Ukrainian Filmmakers. We are going live once a day with films made by Ukrainian documentary and/or experimental filmmakers to support them and their families during the Russian War in Ukraine. All of the money gathered will be redirected straight to the filmmakers.
The first event takes place on Wednesday, 02.03, at 19.00 (EET) in support of a film collective from Mariupol “Freefilmers”. They are making films which are as alert and sensitive to the reality as possible and whose main focus is the human life and struggle for equality and freedom.
During the screening one of the collective runners, Sashko Protyah, will try to join us online from Ukraine. However, since the connection in the bomb shelters isn’t available, the live tune-in might not happen.
The exact film program for the event #1 is TBA.
The screening is online at elektron.art, available from any point in the world.
Tickets (all the money for this event will be donated to the collective): https://fienta.com/et/ukraine-solidarity-screening
Updates for the other screenings come daily if not hourly so please keep checking our website or social media.
All the ticket revenue of all the events goes straight to Ukrainian artists/art and culture institutions currently in need of financial support. Every euro counts!

Three works directed by Sashko Protyah, created by the NGO “Freefilmers”, will be shown at elektron.art.
The team is gathering financial support in order to help the refugees and the military in Ukraine locally. Currently Sashko Protyah, whose films will be screened this Wednesday at elektron.art, managed to flee his hometown Mariupol further to Eastern Ukraine. Other filmmakers from the collective are still in Mariupol. All of the gathered money will be transferred directly to the collective.

Sashko Protyah, artist and co-founder of the movement, lives and works mostly in Mariupol. His main interest is a topic of quotidian experience and its transformations due to political and technological changes. As the artist claims himself, his films are anthropological explorations, epistemologies of human life.
