On March 31th at 7:00 PM in Budva, an astronomer, Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics, and the author of the "Unearthly Podcast," Vladimir Surdin, will give a lecture for children and adults on the topic "Journeys to the Moon".
In the late 1950s, Soviet robots were the first to venture to the Moon, and in the early 1970s, when American astronauts completed their lunar expeditions, the heroic era of manned spaceflight came to an end. Since then, humans have not ventured more than a few hundred kilometers from the Earth's surface. However, robots regularly fly to the Moon, work on its surface, and even return to Earth. What is the perspective on manned expeditions into deep space? Will humans return to the Moon? Why does humanity need the Moon? Which countries and for what reasons are striving for the Moon today? By answering these questions, we will discover new directions in technology and business.
Vladimir Surdin is an astronomer, Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics, associate professor at the Faculty of Physics of Moscow State University, senior researcher at the Sternberg Astronomical Institute, a science popularizer, and the author and editor of several dozen popular science books on astronomy and astrophysics. He is the laureate of the Belyaev Prize and the "Enlightener" Prize.
The lecture will take place in Budva on March 31th at 7:00 PM at the itbranch.house coworking space, located at bb Mediteranska.
