Each other
A good connection between players can deliver the most beautiful scenes in improv. We will focus on caring about our scene partners and really paying attention to what the other person is doing, saying and feeling. We will explore the first rule of improv: listening. After this workshop, you will have experienced how real focus towards your fellow player helps to lift the scene to a new level. If you care about your fellow player they will care for you and the audience will care for the scene.
Jochem Meijer is an improviser from Amsterdam. He started improv in 1999, so he can and will say that he has over 2 centuries worth of experience. He has made it his work to teach various improv troupes, schools and companies within the Netherlands and Europe and he also plays in various specialized improv groups. In his free time, he is trying to insert his improv skills into the online gaming world. Ask him about it and he will explain in depth what that means (so beware).
He loves making people click with each other and focuses on getting the group to grow together. In his workshops, he focuses on learning through doing. So don't expect to be sitting down for long discussions and be prepared to get moving and playing when you take a workshop with him!
This is an improv workshop organised by Rahel Otsa Improkool. You can find more information about improv and ways to get connected here: www.improkool.ee/
