VIKERLASED’S 5TH ANNIVERSARY CONCERT WITH FINNISH CHOIRS AT KUMU!

Vikerlased turned five! During this time, what started as a passing thought to create a choir that unites LGBT+ people, has blossomed into a vivacious and active community choir. More than hundred singers have been part of the choir through the years. Vikerlased was created by LGBT+ people for the queer community and their supporters. Vikerlased is a place where you can feel safe. Vikerlased is a place where you can find new friends. Vikerlased is a place where you're not alone.

Come celebrate with us at our anniversary concert “Legendaarne viis”. Five years of singing, five years of rainbow Vikings. Vikerlased sail through time, having set their sails almost a hundred years ago in mid-1930s Estonia characterised by the demise of democracy, the poem “Legendaarne” (which the choir sings in the concert) by Heidi Talvik, romantic nationalism and decriminalisation of homosexuality. We’ll be joined on this historic journey by Finnish choirs Out 'n loud, Helsingin queer-feministinen kuoro and The Friends of Dorothy. You’ll hear legendary tunes from Estonia, Finland, Sweden and elsewhere. A Viking ship with rainbow-coloured sails will carry us to a queerer future at high speed.

When: Saturday, 11 February at 4 p.m.

Where: KUMU Art Museum's auditorium, Weizenbergi 34 / Valge 1, Tallinn.
