Join us to this literary and musical evening with the author of "Teekond Méxicost Setomaale" (Estonia) and the short-story collection book "Que venga la noche" (Let the night come - Mexico) in the perfect place in the old town for a cozy literary event: Rataskaevu 6 Art Gallery. Let us raise a glass of wine, discover some parallels between Mexico and Estonia, listen to short stories from the books of the author and enjoy Mexican and Setomaa snacks while we listen Mexican traditional songs in the voice and the acoustic guitar of the author.
*The event will be in English and includes wine (also non-alco wine) and light snacks.

Stephanie Rendón de la Torre is a mexican writer, narrator, translator, promoter of Mexican culture in Estonia, and data scientist. An early artist, with two published books; one in Mexico and one in Estonia. One book of short stories (fiction) and one of memoirs. She obtained her Ph.D. in Physics from the Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia) in 2019, where she has been lecturer. She also has published a dozen of research articles and has been editor, translator, and international speaker on topics related to science and literature. She lives in Estonia since 2014 where she works in the field of data science and also pursues her passion for writing literature. She has leaded and participate numerous music projects of different genres in the last 15 years, both in Mexico and in Estonia. She studied classical ballet, piano, and guitar for over a decade and considers herself a passionate writer who loves arts, sports, and nature. Her book ,,Teekond Méxicost Setomaale" (‘’The journey from México to Setomaa’’ - 2022) has been successful among the Estonian public as first place of sales in bookstores. In this work, the author tells us the experiences, contradictions, anecdotes and cultural clashes between Mexico and Estonia from a personal and authentic perspective. The author not only cultivates the essay genre, but also that of the novel and short story. She was finalist in the Young Adult Novel Competition, 2022 organized by the Estonian Center for Children's Literature for her novel "Five seconds of light". Her most recent publication (2023) was the book of short stories in Spanish "Que venga la noche" (Let the night come), published by the Mexican edition house Editorial Libros de Godot. The book comprises thirteen stories that range from magical realism, science fiction, mystery, romance, classic horror, and comedy. The short story "Memories of a fox" is an ode to the Seto land in southern Estonia, for which the author feels a great love. The book has been presented in Estonia, Mexico, and Finland.
