Hayhat and Feltslippers are expecting a new arrival to their family, who needs to be “greased from morning till night”. Feltslippers believes it is a car. But the mother’s belly cannot be stopped from swelling, even though Feltslippers does everything she can to prevent a rival from entering the house. Who will end up popping out of the belly?
The libretto written by Sinikka and Tiina Nopola was inspired by the book Hayhat, Feltslippers and the Baby. Like the Nopolas, the situation familiar to families is treated with humor and from a child’s perspective. The work is composed throughout and the siblings are played by two singing actors. The orchestra of this little musical gem is a versatile accordion, percussion instruments and a violin. The musicians also play the roles of the mother and father.
The performance is suitable for children over 3 years old and lasts approximately 40 minutes.
