Evening of young coreographers consists of two performances.
"𝐃𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐌𝐒" 𝐛𝐲 𝐒𝐀𝐌𝐔𝐄𝐋 𝐊𝐎𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐋
A solo performance inspired by the author's dreams. When Samuel started keeping a nightly dream diary he noticed that formulating and retelling the world of dreams can be a challenging, yet meaningful activity that resonated with others as well. He started testing the idea to explore his world of dreams in the form of dance and movement.
The performance is based on connections between the subconscious and the conscious. Driven by the need to conceptualize the process of mixing spirituality and dreams, according to the founder of analytical psychology, C. G. Jung. According to Jung, the subconscious side of events in dreams is not revealed as rational thought, but as symbolic images.
"DREAMS" explores the connection between superficial chaos and the emotional logic of dreams using text, choreography, physical theatre and singing.
Samuel has completed the choreography curriculum of Tallinn University and studied acting at the Arts University Bournemouth in England. He is now establishing himself in various theatre projects in Europe. This season, Samuel has participated as a dancer in two Fine5 Dance Theatre productions ("THE Family", "Vahtra hääl and Üllas Kuu").

"𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐑" by 𝐕𝐀𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐀 𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐀𝐋𝐈, 𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐀𝐑𝐀 𝐆𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐎, 𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐀𝐑𝐀 𝐅𝐈𝐎𝐑𝐄
The story focuses on three women at a dinner table - a seemingly ordinary situation. However, through the illusion of ordinaryness, the viewer's gaze is directed to an alternative social mirror, allowing us to notice the dynamics of relationships and the effort to peacefully coexist without losing identity and empathy. This work raises questions about how can individuality and empathy exist without destroying each other? How to balance the fragile human ego and its needs with the speed and pressure of societal standards?
Artists were inspired by Carrie Mae Weems' famous photo series "The Kitchen Table Series", in which the author explores the power of black women through domestic routines, relationship dynamics, and the struggles of everyday life. In all series, the kitchen and table play a central role, as if it were a turning point in the emotional and practical lives of the tenants.
Authors of the performance are members of Fine5 Dance Theatre for the 2024/25 season. They have graduated from the Roma Vivo Center (Italy) contemporary dance program.
