EUSOG Presents: "Princess Ida"

Pleasance Courtyard, Edinburgh

The Edinburgh University Savoy Opera Group proudly presents a queer retelling of Gilbert and Sullivan's Princess Ida!

Princess Ida, desperate to escape the patriarchal society she has been raised in, founds Castle Adamant, a university for women, and forswears men. Prince Hilarion, her betrothed since childhood, has other ideas and, alongside his friends Cyril and Florian, sneaks into Castle Adamant to claim his bride.

Calamity, hilarity, and a literal war of the sexes ensues - but will Princess Ida find love after all?

Warning: This performance includes themes of sexism, comic violence, theatrical haze and flashing lights.
