The annual Burns Night ceilidh and dinner to raise money for Refugees at Home is back for its fourth outing!
Robert Burns, Scotland’s National Bard, is famous for his Ode to a Haggis and Scots dialect poetry, but he was also a good rabble rousing socialist who cared about poverty and inequalities, migrants, self-determination, and the environment.
We’re remembering Robbie Burns in the way he would have wanted: we’ll eat haggis, have a ceilidh with a live ceilidh band, drink lots (including Scotch), and raise money for a worthwhile cause.
Refugees At Home is a UK charity which connects those with a spare room in their home to refugees and asylum seekers in need of somewhere to stay. Last year we donated around £3500 to them, and we want to do it again.
