Online ticket sales has ended.

Historian, writer, and educator Tamara Eidelman, author of a popular YouTube channel with over 1.5 million subscribers, invites you to a discussion on topics that resonate with many today: why is Russia so often labeled as a country inclined toward dictatorship? Has history truly set Russia on a path to authoritarian rule over the centuries, and is this the people’s own choice? Tamara will approach these questions from different perspectives, examining how stereotypes have formed and what philosophers and historians of past centuries have said about them.

She will explore why the image of Russia as a nation destined for dictatorship has become ingrained in public consciousness and will present alternative views on freedom, independent thought, and civic engagement, which are also part of Russia’s history. How might these qualities impact the future? Do we have grounds for hope and change?

After the lecture, all guests will have the opportunity to ask questions, discuss the topics, purchase a signed book, and take a memorable photo with Tamara Eidelman.

The lecture will take place on November 14 at 7:00 pm at All Saints Chapel, 110 South East Street.

Doors open at 6:30 pm.
