BLUE SOUP CONNECTION

Saturday 6. June at 11:00 - 21:00

The workshop is divided into two parts: 11:00–13:00 & 18:00–22:00.
With a break from 13:00 to 18:00.

MAISON SHIFT, Zürich

Join us around a shared table: bring a special kinship receipe and share your story with us. The Cyanotype Workshop, Receipe Sharing, Dinner with Kombucha, Kefir and Wine pairing is based on the 2022 interactive Artpiece 'Making the Soup', Recipe Notebooks in La Paz, Bolivia, presented at the Goethe-Institut’s Century of Women Forum.

From learning to creating, preparing food in a group and then sitting down at the blue printed table, sharing food and stories while transforming the table into an embroidery tapestry to exchange our practices and thoughts.

About the workshop
The workshop happens in two parts: in the noon session we will learn to sunprint with cyanotype. After having transferred the receipes and washed out the chemicals from the tablecloth we will take a break to let it dry.

We will get back together in the early evening around our shared receipe tablecloth, that will be the base for our tabelstories. A witness to our shared dinner, holding enstitched memories, which we will embroider onto the table while sharing food and stories.

After the shared Dinner we will open the place for the public to join, listen to our stories and take part in a guided meditation.

Once we began to touch the natural fibers, something stirred in our senses. The garden breeze awakened our longing to gather, the warmth of closeness, surrounded by greenery, reminded us that everything around us is alive, waiting to be stirred. We heard the call to unveil silenced parts within us, and surrendered to the will to heal together.
To feel connected through the weave of our sensitivities— even without knowing exactly how or why— we are being summoned to this space where energies are transmitted.
Sometimes we embroider, other times we sew. In between, we drink and eat the fruits close to our bodies. And there, in the meeting of colors, in the joy of nature’s aromas and flavors, we give way to the emergence of a creation— free in form, sustained by the will of those who, like us, long to feel the connection.

If our voices resonate with you, we welcome you to this space of textile experimentation and Dinner. This exchange circle was initiated by Corinna Mattner, Emanuelle Rapin and Malu Valerio.

In the break we suggest to participate in the Embroidery Workshop by Emanuelle.
