Weaving fascinates with its complex geometric patterns and designs, which are created by cleverly arranging different colored stripes into symmetrical motifs.
In this workshop, two experienced weavers from a cooperative in the north of Côte d'Ivoire will introduce you to the art of West African band weaving. You will make your own ribbon on easy-to-use looms while being guided step by step through the work process.
Although the weavers mainly speak French, they can also communicate a little in German thanks to their experience in German-speaking Switzerland and their work with children.
Cost incl. material:
regular CHF 180
reduced CHF 150
donor ticket CHF 220
