For centuries, the organ has been an integral part of the European Christmas music tradition. Many works were composed specifically for this majestic instrument and continue to be performed in cathedrals and concert halls around the world during the Christmas season.

Under the Neo-Gothic vaults of St. Paul’s Church, music by Johann Sebastian Bach, Antonio Vivaldi, Louis Vierne and other renowned composers will fill the space with the spirit of Christmas.

Performing on the church’s historic organ will be Ilona Birģele, Principal Organist of St. James’ Cathedral in Riga and Artistic Director of the historical organ festival “Latvia – The Land of Organs”. She regularly performs at Riga Cathedral and gives concerts across Europe.

The church’s Neo-Gothic architecture, candlelight and the majestic sound of the organ will create a special atmosphere for a Christmas evening.

For some, this concert will be their first encounter with the sound of the organ. For others, it will be a beloved tradition without which the final days of December are hard to imagine.

Please note: the concert will take place on the historic organ of St. Paul’s Church. All musicians will be located on the balcony.

For the convenience of guests seated in the main hall, the performance will also be broadcast live on screens, allowing you not only to hear the music but also to see the musicians and their performance in detail, making the concert experience as comfortable and immersive as possible.
