We celebrate Valentine's Day with beautiful music, fine chocolate and sparkling wine. Paolo Bonomini, cello, and Maria Yulin, piano, perform a programme devoted to love – for those who come with someone dear to them, and for those who simply treat themselves to the evening.
At its heart are Robert and Clara Schumann, one of the most famous couples in music history, whose works are heard side by side. Heitor Villa-Lobos, too, wrote his Pequena Suíte in a year of love: 1913, when the cellist married the pianist Lucília Guimarães. Alongside them, works by Ravel and Beethoven.
