Saturday 3. January 2026 at 17:00 - 18:30
Arvo Pärt Centre, Laulasmaa
Performers
Martin Kuuskmann (bassoon)
Kristjan Randalu (piano)
Description
In the New Year concert at the Arvo Pärt Centre, bassoonist Martin Kuuskmann and pianist Kristjan Randalu will perform their own arrangements of Franz Schubert's Winterreise, combining classical and jazz influences. Having previously created his own version of Schumann's Dichterliebe cycle, Randalu now brings a fresh approach to Schubert's famous Winterreise, adding jazz elements while retaining the classical foundation. In collaboration with bassoonist Martin Kuuskmann, the combination of piano and bassoon creates a duo with a special sound, offering Schubert's work in completely new soundscapes. This innovative interpretation brings a dynamic and expressive twist to the original work, captivatingly intertwining emotion and spontaneity.
