UP-FELTING LAB — Rework and reshape old clothes into bold, textured surfaces through experimental felting. In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore how to transform existing textiles into expressive, textured surfaces using wool and yarn. Working either directly on second-hand garments or on a piece of fabric, the workshop focuses on creating new material qualities through felting techniques.
About the workshop
After a short introduction to the process, participants will learn how to build structure, relief and depth by layering fibers and working intuitively with the material. Felting becomes a tool not only for repair, but also for reshaping and redesigning garments, allowing for both subtle interventions and bold transformations.
Through guided experimentation, participants will develop their own textile piece while exploring how different fibers interact and how surfaces can be composed. The process encourages a playful and open approach, leaving space for individual expression and unexpected results.
The workshop highlights transformation and reuse as a creative practice, giving new life to existing garments while fostering a deeper understanding of textile behavior and construction.
No prior experience is required. Materials for felting are provided, though participants are welcome to bring their own garments or fabric pieces to work with.
