An Hour with Farm Animals

What happens to the bread crusts in your home? Our animals have a suggestion…

Come and meet the animals at Mustjõe Tavern Estate! Spend an hour with our horses, sheep and chickens, and get a glimpse of their daily lives. Your hosts will introduce the animals and show you how to make friends with them.

During your visit, you can:

• stroke our horses and take turns brushing them;

• feed the horses and sheep with guidance from your host;

• meet the chickens and scatter some grain for them;

• hear stories about our animals from the people who care for them.

Families with children and adults visiting without children are all welcome to enjoy a peaceful hour with the animals. We respect how the animals are feeling and give them space whenever they need it.

Treats for the animals

Leave your bread crusts and bread ends out to dry today, and our animals could be happily munching on them tomorrow! No treats to bring? No worries — we provide animal feed, and it is included in your ticket. You are also welcome to bring carrots and apples. Everything you bring must be clean and free from mould. Please show any food to your hostess first — she will explain which animals may have it and how much to offer.

Come rain or shine

If it rains, we will meet the animals inside our spacious barn. Please wear clothes suitable for a farm visit and closed-toe shoes.

Tickets and participation

• Adults and children aged 5 and over: €10 per person.

• Children under 5: free with a ticket-holding adult. Please reserve a free ticket for each child under 5.

• Each visit is limited to 15 visitors, including children with free tickets.

• Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

• Ticket sales close the evening before each visit. Please book in advance through Fienta.

• Card payments are not available on site.

• Guidance is available in Estonian and English.

Getting here

If you are driving, head towards Aegviidu first. Please do not rely solely on GPS: it may direct you onto roads that are not passable. When approaching from Tallinn, look for the brown sign “Mustjõe Kõrtsitalu 7 km” directing you to turn right. About one kilometre later, a smaller sign directs you to turn left.

You can also come by train! Mustjõe Kõrtsitalu is approximately a 2.5 km walk from Mustjõe railway station. It is a lovely opportunity to combine your animal visit with a walk.
