THE COLOR OF POMEGRANATES tells the life of Armenian poet Sayat-Nova through image, rhythm, and ritual instead of dialogue. Parajanov builds an entire visual language from texture and color. Each frame feels hand-carved and symbolic.
It's hard to describe for the uninitiated. The story is less about a person and more about art, faith, and memory. Nothing is explained. It’s cinema at its most mysterious and deliberate. Even after half a century, no other filmmaker has matched its beauty or precision.
It's a must see on the big screen at FOMO Cinema. Presented in the original Armenian audio with English subtitles.
