The most modern terminal at Tallinn’s Old Harbour is the D-terminal, located on the historic Victoria Quay. The building was constructed in 1995–1996 (architects Irina Raud and Meelis Nurm), but between 2018 and 2020, it underwent a major reconstruction and expansion, resulting in a contemporary passenger terminal that meets all modern standards.

During the renovation, the terminal received a new, modern exterior and was equipped with various environmentally friendly energy solutions. For passengers, significantly larger waiting and seating areas were added, along with a children’s playground and numerous retail and service areas.

The architectural and interior design of the reconstruction was carried out by Irina Raud, Ain Kalberg, and Anna Temmo.

Serving Tallink’s ships on both the Finland and Sweden routes, the D-terminal is today the largest and most modern terminal at the Old Harbour, welcoming over 4 million passengers annually. Alongside the terminal’s modernization, the surrounding public urban space has also been given a new, contemporary look.
