Search for Life and Intelligence in the Universe

On March 30th at 7:00 PM in Budva, an astronomer, Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics, and the author of the "Unearthly Podcast," Vladimir Surdin, will give a lecture for children and adults on the topic "Search for Life and Intelligence in the Universe".

For many years, astronomers have been searching for signs of extraterrestrial life on planets in the Solar System and beyond. Recently, thousands of planets have been discovered around neighboring stars, some of which are similar to Earth.

Can signs of life be detected on these planets? And if there is intelligent life, can it communicate with us? Different methods have been invented to establish contact with extraterrestrial beings, but radio communication has been the most promising so far.

What are the possibilities for communication today, what language should we use, what messages have been sent and received? Vladimir Surdin will talk about this in his lecture.

Vladimir Surdin is an astronomer, Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics, associate professor at the Faculty of Physics of Moscow State University, senior researcher at the Sternberg Astronomical Institute, a science popularizer, and the author and editor of several dozen popular science books on astronomy and astrophysics. He is the laureate of the Belyaev Prize and the "Enlightener" Prize.

The lecture will take place in Budva on March 30th at 7:00 PM at the itbranch.house coworking space, located at bb Mediteranska.
