Join artist Barry Sykes for a drawing class with a difference. Using the stepped seating of the sauna as an ideal life drawing studio, this is a chance to relax, experiment and understand more about how how our bodies behave in the heat.

Ideal for absolute beginners or those looking to play around with their drawing techniques, we’ll try a series of simple, meditative drawing exercises to capture the reclining body as we relax along the benches.

Barry will be your teacher and model, using his ‘Errorless Drawing’ technique that encourages playful, loose gestures over perfect results. All materials will be provided, for short rounds of drawing in the heat and plenty of chances to cool off and share our progress.

Barry Sykes is an artist and teacher based in London, with a practice built around drawing, making and performance. Barry will be in Tallinn for his UK Arts Council funded research project called #SaunaAsStudio that looks at bathing culture as an experimental space for reflection, connection, rest and pleasure.
