Tartu University Symphony Orchestra invites you to enjoy an evening of spring music under the direction of conductor Taavi Kull. The programme features beautiful works by world-renowned composers: Sibelius’ “Karelia Suite”, Dvořák’s “Silent Woods”, Bizet’s “L’Arlésienne Suite No. 1”, and Popper’s “Hungarian Rhapsody”. The soloist for the evening is the distinguished cellist Andreas Lend.
Andreas Lend is the lead cellist of the Estonian National Opera. He also plays in the string quartet Prezioso and the Estonian Cello Ensemble, and he performs as a soloist and chamber musician for many other ensembles. Previously, he played for many years as a cellist with the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, and he has won prizes in several competitions.
