Discover and create: batik workshop with guided exhibition tour
Thursday 11. June at 17:00 - 19:30
The People's Museum of Tallinn
On June 11 at 17:00, artist Ouddhena Teern will introduce the exhibition “The Portals of In-Betweenness. All Roads Led to Eestimaa” and lead a batik painting workshop inspired by the exhibition.
Ouddhena shares the stories behind her works and her view on the essence of batik as a bodily, intuitive, and deeply personal creative practice. For the artist, batik is a form of self-care and self-expression—a way to pause, feel, and reflect.
Following the exhibition tour, participants will have the opportunity to try their hand at a process-oriented batik painting workshop. This calm, presence-supporting creative experience allows participants to explore their inner world through colors and patterns and let creativity flow freely. The workshop is suitable for complete beginners—no prior experience is required.
All necessary materials are provided on site and have been selected with sustainability and circular economy principles in mind.
The workshop will be held in English, with Estonian translation available if needed.
Come discover, create, and experience!
Ouddhena Eronigca Teern is a Malaysia-born artist and the founder of Batiksuutra, whose practice approaches batik as a ritualistic and conceptual form of creation.
