Robin Mäetalu will perform on the 8th of October at the Viljandi Guitar Festival. 🎸
Robin Mäetalu is a guitarist and composer whose music brings together influences from R&B, neo-soul and jazz, driven by a strong groove and improvisation. In 2025, he received the Tiit Paulus Young Guitarist Award at Viljandi Guitar Festival.
At Viljandi Guitar Festival, Mäetalu will present his latest original music, including material from his upcoming debut album. Melody, dynamics and ensemble interplay are at the heart of his music – alongside carefully composed ideas, there is plenty of room for improvisation and spontaneous moments.
The seven-piece line-up gives the music a layered and powerful sound, bringing together guitar and the rhythm section with a horn section.
This concert is organized in collaboration with the Estonian Jazz Union.
