Part stand-up show, part live experiment, "What's Funny Here?" explores what makes us laugh, where the limits of comedy lie and whether people from different countries are amused by the same things.

To find the answers, Alex turns the theatre into his laboratory and the audience into his accomplices. Songs, audience games, absurd props, cultural misunderstandings, and a catastrophically ambitious magic trick all become part of the investigation.

Fast, irreverent and joyfully unpredictable, "What's Funny Here?" is a highly interactive comedy show about language, culture and our shared need to laugh.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Alex O’Dogherty is a Spanish comedian, actor, musician, writer and filmmaker whose career spans theatre, film, television, live music and stand-up comedy.

Throughout his career he has appeared in numerous films, television series and acclaimed stage productions, while also developing a distinctive voice as a writer, performer and creator of original live shows.

Alongside his acting work, he has toured extensively as a musician and has hosted major cultural events and awards ceremonies across Spain.

In 2026, he made his directorial debut with the documentary “A Little Bit from Everywhere”, a personal exploration of migration, identity and belonging.

Known for blending comedy, storytelling, music and improvisation, Alex creates performances that are intelligent, playful and deeply engaging.

“What’s Funny Here?” brings together everything he has explored throughout his career, along with his genuine curiosity about what makes people laugh across cultures.
