Panel Discussion - Masculinity & Labels

Tirsdag 29. april klokken 18:00 - 20:00

Mashti Community, Oslo

A provocative panel series unpacking how power, politics, and control shape our most intimate experiences.

Who gets to desire?
Who gets punished for it?
Who holds the keys to pleasure?

This Edition’s Focus: Masculinity & Labels

Masculinity is one of Paulina’s deepest interests, precisely because it’s so polarized. While male loneliness is reaching epidemic levels, even so-called “sex-positive” spaces often replicate rigid, right-wing notions of manhood. Instead of liberation, we’re left with more boxes, just painted in progressive colors.

So what does masculinity mean today? Is there space for softness, confusion, non-performance? Can we talk about masculinity without reinforcing it?
In this bold conversation series, we dig deep into how systems of control, from governments to communities, from shame to legislation, shape our bodies, identities, and intimate lives. Through dialogues with activists, critical thinkers, sex workers, and philosophers, we unravel how pleasure is policed, how freedom is filtered, and how sexuality is still shaped by invisible hands.

From state surveillance to social stigma, from the politics of orgasms to the freedom to express identity, this panel invites you to question the illusion of sexual freedom and the structures that maintain the status quo.

About the host

Paulina is a psychologist, sexologist, and founder of Pl3asur3Nights, a movement challenging outdated norms around sex and intimacy. As an inclusive feminist, she advocates for sex-positive spaces that are accessible, educated, and truly inclusive.
Together with Mashti, she brings a fierce honesty to conversations around power and community, calling out the blind spots in Western “inclusivity” and asking the questions many shy away from. Heavily influenced by Foucault (the philosopher who cracked open the relationship between sex and power), Paulina approaches desire and identity as messy, beautiful, and political terrain.

Our Guests

Sebastian (they/them) is a 26-year-old non-binary person who lived much of their life identifying as a man. They are one of the co-founders of Pleasure Nights, a community and event platform dedicated to sex positivity, inclusion, and pleasure activism. Outside of community work, they’re a Product Manager in tech and are actively involved with Dialogpilotene, an initiative that facilitates meaningful conversations on tough topics with youth and adults alike.

Christos (he/him) grew up in Greece, where non-normative expressions of gender and sexuality were rarely accepted. After moving to Norway, he found belonging in the country’s sex-positive, psychedelic, and rave communities. With lived experience in non-monogamy and navigating masculinity, he brings a critical lens to the double standards often present in progressive spaces. Outside these circles, Christos works in climate change and volunteers in harm reduction and drug policy reform.
