The wish works, and what follows is a darkly funny, increasingly unhinged descent into obsession, possession and the terrifying possibility that getting exactly what you want might be the worst thing that could possibly happen to you.
Written, directed and edited by 26-year-old filmmaker Curry Barker, OBSESSION premiered in the Midnight Madness section of the Toronto International Film Festival before becoming one of the year's biggest surprise success stories.
Made for less than a million dollars, the film went on to earn more than $300,000,000 worldwide and established Barker as one of the most exciting new voices in horror cinema.
It's funny, uncomfortable and gloriously unpredictable. In my mind OBSESSION feels destined for cult status.
FOOD AND DRINK POLICY: FOMO Cinema Lounge Bar opens 1 hour before the first screening of the day and closes at 02:00, serving a wide selection of beer, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic refreshments including coffee and tea, as well as fresh hot popcorn! Outside food is allowed in the bar but not in the cinema. No alcohol from outside allowed. All guests are invited to arrive early and stay late!
