Karan Karthik is an Indian-born comedian who found his comedic voice in the Netherlands. Karan is many things. But most of all, he is a bundle of contradictions. Just like life itself and the many colorful characters he comes across. In another life, this stand-up comic from faraway India could have started a cult. In this life, well it’s not over, so we never know. But until then he’s happy to regale you with stories that are hilarious Known for blending sharp wit with thought-provoking topics, Karan tackles themes like prejudice, racism, mental health, and relationships, leaving audiences laughing and introspective. Karan is a regular in the Dutch comedy scene, Karan has performed at festivals such as the Utrecht International Comedy Festival (UICF) and MAD Goat Comedy Festival. He is currently touring with his debut solo show ‘Any Color You Like’, It is show about exploring life’s contradictions with humor. This one is guaranteed to have you rolling in the aisles, while still making you think. He is super excited to bring his show to one of the best rooms in Gent, Amai Comedy Club. HOST: Heli Pärna

Heli Pärna is a comedian, actress, trainer among many other things. After more than ten years of working in theater and improv as a performer, director and writer, she stood up almost three years ago combining all the different forms of storytelling. Since then she has been in over 100 shows including headlining at Side Splitters Comedy showcase and opening for Derek Mitchel’s Double Dutch, Tova Leigh’s Honey, I’m losing it and Matthew Mcaloone and Elena Gabrielle OK!?. In 2023 she wrote her first solo one woman show which premiered at Tallinn Fringe Festival in August 2023 and has brought it to stages in Brussels, Luxembourg, Geneva and New Zealand. In 2024 Heli made her debut at Edinburgh Festival Fringe with a 14 night run of her show. Heli is based in Brussels where she also runs and hosts the bi-weekly Funny Women Brussels show. Off stage, Heli is usually reading, watching anything by Mike Flanagan, traveling and submitting short stories just to keep the rejection muscle going.
