Marie Courtin & Piollot – An Evening of Grower Champagne
Marie Courtin & Piollot
In collaboration with diWine and Gastronomist & Karl Pajussaar
April 11 at 18:30
The official tasting will last approximately 2 hours.
diWine and Gastronomist invite wine lovers in Tartu to meet two distinctive grower Champagne houses – Marie Courtin and Piollot. The evening will be led by house representatives and young winemakers Rose Piollot and Nathan Fallowfield.
The Houses
Piollot and Marie Courtin are small-scale producers from the Côte des Bar region, run by spouses Roland Piollot and Dominique Moreau. Both houses focus on clear varietal expression, producing largely single-varietal Champagnes that highlight Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc and other regional grape varieties. Their philosophy centres on terroir, precise vineyard work and a pure, distinctive style.
Tasting Line-up
Piollot Cuvée de Réserve (assemblage)
Piollot Colas Robin (Pinot Blanc)
Piollot Come des Tallants (Pinot Noir)
Piollot Les Protelles Rosé (Pinot Noir)
Piollot Mepetit (Pinot Meunier)
Marie Courtin Effloressence (Pinot Noir)
Marie Courtin Concordance (Pinot Noir)
The tasting will conclude with Piollot’s ratafia.
Format of the Evening
The evening will unfold in a relaxed and informal setting. Gastronomist and head chef Karl Pajussaar will host us in the Chefs Hall lounge, where Champagne, carefully paired light bites and engaging conversations with the winemakers take centre stage.
After the official tasting, guests are welcome to stay longer and continue enjoying Champagne in a lounge atmosphere.
