After modelling for a portrait, a young man of astounding beauty finds himself the subject of London’s renown. Emerging from the admirers, the 'intellectual nonchalant' Lord Henry Wotton elects himself as Dorian’s guardian. Having taken it upon himself to educate the boy, he persuades Dorian toward his own preference for living: hedonism. Rampant, excessive indulgence - and all entirely casual. While Henry assures that this is a path of nourishment, it’s a tonic that’s hard to swallow.
Balancing tragedy with pleasure, and comedy with desperation, this adaptation of 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' guarantees flare, as Oscar Wilde’s classic novel is brought to the stage with original twists, and a wit left quite intact.
