MC Like a pro: 3-part MC'ing Course for Stand-up Comedians

That Comedy Thing's MC-course is back!

This course takes place in 2 different Amsterdam locations and consists of 2 dates. For dates and details see below.

In this 2-part course, designed for comedians with some live experience (around 3+ months), you’ll learn the basics of MC’ing a stand-up comedy show or open mic, dive deep into crowdwork, and—most importantly—actually MC a real show in front of a live audience to test your skills, guided by a teacher who can give you feedback and notes as the show is happening.

By the end of the course, you’ll feel confident, knowledgeable, and ready to take the dive as an MC, with real-world experience that no sitting-in-a-room workshop can offer.

Why this course is different:

• You don’t just practice on paper—you get to MC an actual show.

• Hands-on feedback from a pro MC during your performance.

• Small, focused group for personalized guidance.

• Limited spots—this course has sold out quickly in the past.

Teacher:

• Alex Nasse

• “TCT classes are great for anyone who’s ever seen a comedian (live or on TV) and had even the slightest inkling of ‘could I do that too?’” – Lennard van Ree

Course details:

• Format: 2 sessions, 1x 3 hours behind closed doors, 1x MC'ing a real open mic (date between November 2026 and January 2027)
