Monday 7. October at 19:00 - 22:00

Podium Mozaïek • Bos en Lommerweg 191, 1055 DT Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands

Online ticket sales has ended.

On October 7th, Amsterdam will host a unique lecture by one of the world’s leading experts on North Korea — Professor Andrei Lankov.

What lies behind the impenetrable borders of the most secretive regime of our time? How does the system of total control function, managing to keep its citizens isolated from the outside world? Lankov will share fascinating facts about the lives of ordinary people and the changes that are gradually transforming the country.

You will also learn how people attempt to escape from North Korea and what dangers await those who dare to flee. How did the country deal with the coronavirus? North Korea claims to have fully defeated COVID-19, but what really happened inside the country during the pandemic? "My Communism on the Sidelines" — what are Kim Jong Un's true motives in seeking new allies and closer ties with Russia?

After the lecture, you will have the opportunity to ask questions to the professor, buy books, and get them signed.

The event will be held in Russian at Podium Mozaïek Theatre, located at Bos en Lommerweg 191.

In addition, Lankov will also be speaking in Berlin and London:
