This is the time.
This is the perception of the time.
This is fiction.
This is poetry.
This is not fiction.
This is something.
This is my mom.
This is my mom.
This is my mom.
This is the violence.
This is the violence getting closer to my mom.
This is me.
This is a pattern.
This is a tear.

Taxonomy of a Mom is a game between the signifier, the meaning, and the object. It is a game to understand my mom while I deconstruct my memories with her.

Taxonomy of a Mom is an intimate encounter with few people in an apartment, in my home, in my past, in my brain.

Daniel Ortiz Amézquita is a Colombian performing artist (actor, dancer, and director) whose practice weaves together elements of acting, contemporary dance, improvisation, dramaturgy, and storytelling. He is interested in the boundaries of representation, imagination, and the many ways in which an audience can experience performance, always seeking to expand theatrical languages. Through his performance research group Cuerpos que Gritan Lab, he explores these questions by developing laboratories and scenic prototypes that challenge conventional notions of what theatre is or means.
