KIRTAN: practice of chanting mantras and meditation.
Saturday 4. April at 18:00 - 20:00
Tatari 64, 5th floor, room 521
Kirtan is a beautiful practice of chanting mantras from Indian traditions and a form of meditation.
The facilitator sings a line, and the group responds, gradually immersing into rhythm and sound. Traditions of collective singing exist in every culture. Ancient Sanskrit mantras are addressed to nature, the elements, the gods, and the cosmos — to the whole universe.
Working with the voice has a positive effect on the overall state of the body and mind.
No experience or prior knowledge is needed: you can sing, listen, or simply be.
This is not a sect, not about religion, and not abstract spiritual talk — it is a personal inner process where calmness, a good mood, and relief from anxiety naturally arise. It is an ancient practice through which people create a joyful atmosphere together.
Participation — donation-based 🙏
Facilitator: Irina Laidinen — certified sound therapist (British Academy of Sound Therapy), vocalist, researcher of Vedic chanting, and founder of a sound therapy and yoga studio in Tallinn.
