Sacred Music from the Eastern Christian Tradition
The vocal ensemble Rejoice presents the programme they will take to an international competition in Poland — a rare opportunity to hear it live in Tallinn before it reaches the stage.
Last year, the ensemble was highly praised by the jury of the Hajnówka festival. This season, they return with a new programme — more refined, focused, and artistically cohesive.
This is a cappella music, free from accompaniment and external effects. It reveals how the sound of Eastern Christian prayer has evolved, from early chant to contemporary composition.
The programme includes ancient hymns as well as works by Arvo Pärt, Cyrillus Kreek, Igor Stravinsky, and others.
This is a unique chance to experience the competition programme live here, before it is presented on the international stage.
