Jazz Meets Burlesque: Pop the Cork!

On International Champagne Day, Velvet transforms into a shimmering world of bubbles, brass, and burlesque. The evening drapes itself in sultry live jazz, golden age glamour, and the artistry of burlesque in its most elegant form.

The intoxicating rhythms of jazz create a lush backdrop for the internationally acclaimed Madame Romanova, a queen of classic burlesque whose timeless style and daring artistry bring sparkle and sophistication to the stage. Her performances embody femininity, empowerment, and playful decadence, channeling icons of strength and allure.

Madame Romanova is an internationally recognised burlesque performer and a true queen of classic burlesque. She earned her crown at the Amsterdam Burlesque Award 2015 and went on to represent the Netherlands at the prestigious Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas in 2016.

Born in the former USSR and now based in Rotterdam, Romanova draws inspiration from powerful women throughout history such as Cleopatra, Mata Hari, and Sally Rand. Her acts celebrate strength, sensuality and individuality, embodying the femme fatale spirit while honouring women as mothers, icons, and leaders.

Adding a vibrant musical heartbeat to the night is Vadims Dmitrijevs (LT), a young Latvian jazz trombone virtuoso now based in Hamburg. At just 23, Dmitrijevs has already made a name as a soloist with the Latvian Radio Big Band, as a bandleader of his own projects and through collaborations with jazz luminaries such as Tino Derado, Rudi Mahall, John Schroeder, and Matthias Schubert. He is joined by a stellar Estonian lineup: Christian Fox (Rhodes piano), Karl Madis Pennar (double bass), and Martin Petermann (drums).

Champagne bubbles, feathers, and the spirit of the 1930s swirl together in an atmosphere where every note, every shimmer, and every glance becomes a toast to life’s most dazzling pleasures.

A glass of Champagne to begin the evening is included.

Doors open at 20:00 and the event begins at 21:00. Early arrival is recommended to allow time for registration, seating, and a first cocktail as the night unfolds.
