Andrew Jefford, a regular guest at the Riga Wine & Champagne festival, is well known to many gourmets as an incredible wine storyteller and a wine column author for the Financial Times. However, only a few know that Andrew is also an outstanding whiskey connoisseur and the author of the popular whiskey book Whisky Island: A Portrait of Islay and its whiskies.
At the festival's opening dinner on September 20 at the Osiris Telpa restaurant, Andrew is determined to educate us about the world of smoky Islay whiskies. We will enjoy Andrew's stories alongside an incredible selection of Islay whiskies, as well as surprises from the Osiris Telpa kitchen.
Joining us for dinner will be Lauris Grass, the boss of Mākonis and Drink Masterclasses, one of the creators of the Whisky & Friends festival, who will complement Andrew's stories and book readings with commentary on the behind-the-scenes of the dinner's whiskies and other useful information for whisky enthusiasts.
