BLUE SOUP CONNECTION - Cyanotype & Embroidery Tavolata

This workshop brings together cyanotype, shared cooking, and textile practice in a collective experience.

Based on the project “Making the Soup,” you will co create a tablecloth that grows and transforms over the course of the day. In the morning, you are introduced to the basics of cyanotype and work with sun exposure to transfer recipes and images onto fabric. The process then pauses until the evening.

 Later, we gather again to cook, eat, and exchange, while continuing to embroider the tablecloth. Step by step, a shared piece emerges that makes our stories and encounters visible.

 After dinner, the space opens to guests who are invited to listen, take part, and join a guided meditation. If this open and collective approach resonates with you, you are warmly invited to be part of it.

Workshop leaders:
Corinna Mattner is a co founder of MAISON SHIFT and works across initiatives at the intersection of fashion, craft, and circular practices. Her artistic practice is rooted in collective approaches and engages with systemic change, often working performatively with biomaterials, sewing machine sounds, oscillators connected to plants, and voice.

Malu Valerio is a visual artist working at the intersection of art and activism, with a focus on human rights, gender, and the environment. She is part of the collectives Sobrepasadas and Women Against Violence. Her work has received several awards, including the AICA Young Artist Award and the Eugenio Mendoza Prize. She currently lives and works in Zurich.
