Improv Masterclass: How To Always Do Great Scenes with Will Naameh (UK)

Have you ever been improvising a scene and found yourself stuck thinking "what comes next"?

Strong scenes are built from strong characters in fun situations, not from improvisers desperately trying to think ahead. This workshop will help you find the fun and freedom in every scene you ever do! From initiating strong character choices, to truthful emotional engagement, to making bold moves that "ruin" the scene, you'll be pushed to create joyous, unexpected and surprising choices - and that's where the true fun lies in any scene you ever do.

At least 6 months prior improv experience is required for this workshop.

About the instructor:
Will Naameh is a multi-award-winning improviser based in Edinburgh. He has been improvising professionally for 10 years.

He performs with some of the UK's leading improv groups, including The Spontaneous Players and Men With Coconuts. He has racked up hundreds of improv performances over the last six Edinburgh Fringe Festivals, and tours across the UK with the sell-out improvised Harry Potter show Spontaneous Potter. He is the 2017 UK Improv Smackdown Champion.

Outside of improvising in groups, he performs solo freestyle rap comedy under his rap name MC Hammersmith. Under this guise, he won the 2018 Scottish Comedy Award for Best Newcomer and has appeared on BBC Scotland and STV.

He has trained and performed at Second City, iO Chicago and Annoyance, and with such improv names as Keith Johnstone, Susan Messing, Patti Stiles and TJ and Dave.
