A smart, philosophical stand-up comedy show about identity, culture, dating & not being a robot. Berk Çaycı live in Vienna, Feb 6th.
Berk Çaycı is a half-Turkish comedian — and his other half is also Turkish.
Yes, he’s aware that this raises questions. He has many of them too.
Berk is a sharp, humorous, and evocative storyteller who blends intelligent observations with absurd ideas, personal anecdotes, and moments of pure, beautifully constructed nonsense. His comedy lives at the intersection of philosophy and everyday life — asking big questions, then immediately undermining them with a joke about dating apps, bureaucracy, or his own name.
He believes that intelligent comedy can also be genuinely funny — and then proves it by making silly wordplays about “Çaycı,” a name that almost guarantees a lifetime of mispronunciation.
I Am Still Not Sure is a philosophical stand-up comedy journey through identity, language, faith, technology, relationships, and the strange, confusing beauty of modern life.
In this solo hour, Berk explores what it means to exist between cultures, between expectations, and very often between U-Bahn lines. He dissects everyday experiences that feel small but somehow carry existential weight — from online forms that don’t trust humans, to dates that feel like social experiments, to the quiet panic of being asked where you’re “really” from.
This is a show about:
Living between cultures without fully belonging to either
Having a name that looks easy but never is
Dating in Vienna (yes, this show doubles as emotional support)
Faith, identity, and the pressure to define yourself
Technology that constantly asks you to prove you’re not a robot
And the general feeling that everyone else seems more certain than you are
All of this is wrapped into what Berk describes as a cosmic dürüm — carefully layered, slightly spicy, and served mit scharf und alles.
You’ll definitely relate if:
• Your “easy” name is pronounced wrong more often than right
• You’ve ever dated in Vienna and needed recovery time
• You’ve clicked “I am not a robot” and felt personally attacked
• You’ve tried to explain who you are and gave up halfway through
• You suspect modern life is chaos pretending to be organized
This is comedy that laughs at uncertainty instead of fighting it.
