What can you discover here?

Our NEW permanent exhibition “Why Do I Need Soil?! From Seed to Harvest, from Harrows to Robots” takes you underground, into the fields, to the shop and into the future of farming and food.

• What sounds does soil make?

• Do plants talk?

• How much work does one earthworm do?

• How does food get from the field to the shop shelf?

• What does farming look like when satellites, robots and artificial intelligence become part of it?

The exhibition texts are available in English, Latvian and Estonian.

Nostalgia and journeys into the past:

• Exhibition on Soviet-era canteen culture – an exhibition exploring canteen culture in Soviet-era Estonia, where food shortages called for creative solutions. A story of humour, hardship and human ingenuity.

• “Look, I Shrunk the kolkhoz!” – a miniature exhibition featuring rare, detailed models of life on a Soviet collective farm, all at a scale of 1:35.
