Hosting + Crowd Work Workshop with Tera! June 2026

WHO is this Workshop for?

• Comics who want to get better thinking on their feet, for the purpose of comedy sets.

• Anyone who wants to host an event, or comedy show, ever.

• Anyone who wants to get better at public speaking.

• Anyone who attended previous workshops, who wants a refresher!

This is a 2 Day Event, but if you can only attend one date, that is ok.

WHAT will we actually do?

• Discuss topics in detail such as: How to move from crowdwork into material, when to do/not do crowdwork, specific techniques when talking to people, what is a „table touch“, planning your hosting set, presentation, show etc…

• Watch videos from pro comics: What techniques did these use here? Observe. Discuss. Practice.

• Get on our feet! Practice crowd working in a safe, supportive environment! Fail big, fail again, try harder!

• Bullet points that will make you a better host. What do do before/during/after the show/presentation. There is much more to think about it than it appears!

• NEW: Outlining your Gig!

I have NEVER DONE COMEDY or are NEW TO COMEDY - Is this for me?

Yes! We will address both basics 101, and go into details for the more experienced folks.

If you are a beginner or intermediate stand up comedian, this course is for you! Or if you work in corporate and simply want new skills that translate to any public speaking role - or simply being more comfortable at parties - this is for you!

I am ALREADY HOSTING - Will I learn anything?

Yes! Tera has 25 years stage experience and a Bachelors degree in Performance. Her first paying stage gig was in 2001. Even with all that experience, as recent as 2018, Tera was taking a 3 week improvisation course with a European master improviser and writing workshops. Being a good improviser does not just „happen“ naturally, it is a skill! Like any skill, you train for it!

WHEN is it? All Sessions are at Das Gift, Neukolln

**Saturday June 20, 4-8pm (arrive by 3:45 latest for payment, grab drinks) Students should plan on seeing a Comedy Show of their choice, between Session 1 and Session 2

Saturday June 27: 4-7pm. (Tera's solo show is at 8:30 after this course. Students are welcome to attend for free to observe how blending written jokes/crowdwork can turn into an Hour Show!!)

What if I have to miss one day ?

Yes, that is fine! While I cannot change the costs, If you do miss one class - you are welcome to take a future class, free of charge, to make up for it.

HOW much does it COST?

The cost of the Workshop will be:

• 125 € Low Income/Student, or anyone who earns under 25K per year .

• 175 € Regular Price

• 195€ Corporate manager level jobs

• 50€ Graduates of former Workshop - Brush Up Discount!

NOTE: There is a 5€ Book my Spot Fee that ensures your spot! You pay the BALANCE at the event. This is DEDUCTED from the total fee - this is NOT an extra fee.

Will this pay off?

Dude. You will make this entire course fee back in ONE good show you Host! If you get good, corporate rates for comedy are 8x this fee.

WHY does it cost money?

Art is a skill. Even with 25 years stage experience, I still pay for workshops. Workshops take hours of time: set up, planning, preparation, and years of experience. Therefore that time is worth money. There are no refunds on course fees, but if you cannot attend a session for any reason, you are welcome to take an upcoming class OR attend Tera´s comedy shows, for FREE to make up the difference you paid for ;)

Can I get an invoice for this workshop?

Of course! But you must do a bank transfer before the first session! Please email Tera for details!

Do you offer this workshop for specialty groups (corporate, students)?
