HANS ZIMMER. CONCERT–SOUND JOURNEY WITH ORGAN, GONGS & VIDEO PROJECTIONS
December 2 / 7:00 PM / St. John’s Church / Tallinn
Gong masters unite the sound of their instruments with the majestic voice of the organ. A unique soundscape emerges through a free flow of musical improvisation, culminating in Hans Zimmer’s music from the films “Interstellar” and “Dune.”
Each concert is a one-of-a-kind experience. Silence and the delicate resonance of bells gradually give way to the deep vibrations of gongs and the powerful sound of the organ. The music seems to reveal the church in all its acoustic depth — from barely audible sounds to magnificent waves of music.
The visual dimension of the concert creates a special atmosphere, based on the principle of light dramaturgy. Light becomes an extension of the music: it follows its movement, highlights the architecture of the church, and invites the audience to experience the music on a deeper level.
The first part of the concert is an immersive sound experience. Gongs, flat bells known as bilas, and organ come together in a live improvisation. This soundscape invites you to pause amid the rush of everyday life, quiet your thoughts, listen to the music and the silence, appreciate the beauty of the moment, and make space for inner contemplation.
The space is then filled with Hans Zimmer’s music — epic, emotional, and reaching towards infinity. The power of the organ and the deep resonance of the gongs give these familiar compositions a new dimension.
This is more than a performance of Hans Zimmer’s music — it is a musical journey from silence to monumental sound, from contemplation to a sense of infinite space.
