Desinformatsioon on tänapäeval kogu maailma vaevav probleem. Tonislav Hristovi film vaatleb traditsioonilise meedia ja valeuudiste kokkupõrget Bulgaarias. Stsenaarium on kõhedust tekitavalt tuttavlik ja võib korduda kõikjal.
Genka Šikerova on uuriv ajakirjanik, kelle töö on muuhulgas mitmesuguste väärtegude uurimine. Selle tööga kaasnevad omad ohud ning tal peab jätkuma meelekindlust, et läbi murda ka klaaslagedest. Teine filmitegelane Ivan Gerassimov aga levitab desinformatsiooni keemiapilvede kohta, ilmutades vahepeal ka nüri homofoobiat. Ühtlasi korraldab ta oma „teooriate“ kinnitamiseks iseäralikke uuringuid.
Genkal tärkab huvi, mil moel valeuudised täpsemalt toimivad: kust need pärinevad, kes neid levitab ja mis põhjusel; mis võimaldab nende justkui kulutulena levikut. Valeuudiste levitamisest on saanud rahateenimisviis ja sõgedatel väljamõeldistel on muuhulgas psühholoogilised põhjused. Valimiste lähenedes valeinfo levik hoogustub ja tundub, et kremlimeelse partei ja Ivani levitatava desinformatsiooni vahelised seosed ei ole kokkusattumus.

5. aprillil toimub pärast filmi linastust venekeelne arutelu, kus vestlevad ERR-i ajakirjanik Andrei Titov ning ajakirjanik ja RusDelfi faktikontrollija Ilya Ber.
Üritust toetab Šveitsi-Eesti koostööprogrammi projekt MeediaRadar, mis toimub aastatel 2024–2028 RaRa ja Kultuuriministeeriumi koostöös. Projekti on kaasrahastanud Šveitsi riik majanduslike ja sotsiaalsete erinevuste vähendamiseks Euroopa Liidus.
Disinformation is tormenting the whole world. Tonislav Hristov’s film explores the collision of traditional media and fake news in Bulgaria. An eerily familiar scenario could very well be seen anywhere.
Genka Shikerova is an investigative journalist who investigates different wrongdoings as part of their job. The job comes with its own dangers, and they should have enough determination to break glass ceilings as well. Ivan Gerasimov, on the other hand, produces disinformation about chemical trails combined with stale homophobia. They also conducts peculiar research to support his “theories”.
Genka develops an interest in the functioning of the field of disinformation. Where does fake news come from, who distributes it and why? Disinformation seems to spread like wildfire. Sharing it has become a way to make money and there is a distinct psychology behind the deranged stories. The distribution of fake news intensifies when the elections come closer and ties between the pro-Kremlin party and Ivan’s disinformation do not seem like a coincidence.

On April 5, a discussion in Russian will take place after the film, featuring a conversation between ERR journalist Andrei Titov and journalist and RusDelfi fact-checker Ilya Ber.
The event is supported by the Swiss-Estonian cooperation program's project ‘MeediaRadar’, which takes place from 2024 to 2028 in cooperation with the Estonian National Library and Estonian Ministry of Culture. The project is supported by the Swiss contribution to reducing economic and social disparities in the EU.
