Vivita / Lahenduste Laboratoorium invite you to Sashiko - Japanese traditional embroidery workshop
Sashiko is a traditional Japanese embroidery characterized by simple stitches and geometric patterns. In the past, this technique was used not only for decorative purposes but also for practical ones, such as making clothes warmer and stronger or repairing them to make them last longer.
You can learn the basics of Sashiko from Hikari, who works at Vivita and Fotografiska. Come and repair your items, develop a mindset of reuse, enhance your skills, and gather inspiration. We will enjoy delicious Japanese tea and spend a pleasant time together.
*The workshop takes place over two months, every other Tuesday from 18:00 to 19:30. (13.08, 27.08, 10.09, 24.09) at Vivita/ Lahenduste Laboratoorium (Telliskivi 60A/5 10412, Tallinn. Telliskivi Loomelinnak, B Building, I Floor)
*You can register for a single session or the entire course if you wish to work on a larger project.
*You can bring your own clothing item to try the Sashiko technique on, or use our fabric pieces.
The number of participants is limited (12 participants), so please register in advance. If you are unable to attend, please let us know early so that we can offer your spot to other interested people.
The workshop is intended for adults and will be conducted in English.
