Master classes at the exhibition Bernardo Strozzi: Beyond Caravaggio

Neljapäev, 12. juuni kell 18:00 - 19:30

Kadrioru kunstimuuseum, Tallinn

The master classes offer exclusive opportunities to see the high-profile exhibition Bernardo Strozzi: Beyond Caravaggio in a small group in an intimate setting. With the museum closed to the public, participants will enjoy a guided tour led by a curator or expert guide, providing unique insights into the artworks.

This international exhibition provides a comprehensive overview of the work of the talented and versatile master of the early Italian Baroque, Bernardo Strozzi (1582‒1644). During his lifetime, he was among the most sought-after painters in Genoa and Venice. Renowned for his mastery in various painting and drawing techniques, he displayed exceptional skill in religious scenes, portraits, genre paintings and still lifes. Strozzi stands out in art history as an open-minded and highly attentive artist, who was able to skilfully synthesise new artistic impulses and influences into his own personal style, characterised by naturalism and dynamic brushwork.

Curated by Greta Koppel and Anna Orlando, this exhibition is the first major retrospective of Strozzi’s work outside Italy.

The exhibition brings together nearly 50 artworks from European museums and private collections, including masterpieces that have never been on public display before. The exhibition is accompanied by a richly illustrated catalogue and a varied public programme.

This international exhibition is the highlight of the 25th anniversary celebrations of the Kadriorg Art Museum.
