Handshake is not enough: Let’s talk about the founders agreement
Neljapäev, 11. september kell 16:00 - 18:30
Cafe KIOSK NO3, Tallinn
Join us on September 11 at KIOSK No3 café for a special afternoon networking event. We’ll dive into one of the most overlooked—but essential—aspects of startup success: the Founders’ Agreement.
Participants will explore the practical and legal importance of having a well-structured Founders’ Agreement in place from the very beginning of their startup journey. The session will cover key elements such as roles and responsibilities, equity division, intellectual property rights, decision-making processes, and exit scenarios.
Learn why establishing clear responsibilities and a solid legal structure from the start is crucial not only for maintaining healthy co-founder relationships, but also for building investor confidence. You’ll gain insights into what should be included in a Founders’ Agreement, when to create one, and how it can protect your startup from potential risks as your business grows.
Whether you’re just starting out or scaling fast—make sure your foundation is solid.
✅ Real-world insights
✅ Legal essentials for early-stage startups
✅ Networking with fellow founders
Insights and practical guidance will be provided by Timo Kullerkupp (RASK Attorneys-at-Law), who has spent more than a decade mentoring and advising startups and scale-ups on co-founder relations, capital raising, the legal set-up of products and services, and compliance. He argues that a well-structured and properly negotiated Founders’ Agreement is a critical milestone in a startup’s journey—far more than a document to tick the investor-readiness box.
Panel discussion: Joining Timo are founders Marke Kesküll and Jüri Bogatkin, who will share their experience. The discussion will be moderated by Vaido Mikheim, Head of Startup Estonia.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in an open Q&A—a chance to ask questions directly to the speakers and a legal expert. Additionally, the networking session that follows offers an informal setting to continue discussions, share experiences, and connect with fellow founders and startup ecosystem experts.
Agenda:
16:00–16:30 – Registration, drinks and snacks
16:30–16:50 – Presentation by legal expert Timo Kullerkupp
